Territories include Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Atlanta.
About the Position:
The Business development manager (BDM) is responsible for increasing gross profit and market share while establishing new relationships and developing existing customers in their assigned territory. This is an outside sales/hunter role focused on selling trucking/air/ocean freight for clients needing domestic and global supply chain efficiencies. Strategic relationship building via ongoing consultative selling and collaboration with internal pricing and operational teams to customize client services is necessary. Beyond training, this is a field sales role; most of the time is spent with clients.
Qualifications:
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Experience selling domestic/air/ocean freight
• Thoughtful presentation and selling techniques with a solution-oriented approach
• Thorough knowledge of transportation industry logistics and freight forwarding
• Detail-oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated, able to work in a team, but mostly independently
• Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
