TITLE:  Operator Journeyperson


REPORTS TO:  Superintendent



PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITON


Responsible for operating heavy equipment as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations as mandated by Mortenson safety policies and procedures


 


COMPENSATION


 The base compensation range for this role is $ 53.62-61.27**depending on classification.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)



  • Operate the following equipment based on the requirements of the project:

    • Blade

    • Dozer

    • Loader

    • Scraper

    • Forklift/Telehandler

    • Crane

    • Bobcat/Skid-steer

    • Boom Lifts/Aerial Lifts

    • Roller


  • Follow prescribed safety regulations

  • Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area

  • Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning

  • Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction

  • Follow work plans and pre-task cards

  • Provide leadership to other team members and apprentices by displaying resourcefulness, starting 


             work habits, and creativity in problem solving based on information and judgment



  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

  • All other duties as assigned



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  • Equipment certifications as required

  • Minimum one year of related experience

  • Current driver’s license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law, position specific
