SUMMARY


Mortenson is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to Manage and ensure the accuracy of end-to-end time capture and reconciliation of timecards.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for understanding and implementing the end-to-end process of Time capture starting with regulatory and union work rules through to audit and time transfer with all relevant reporting and filings. 

  • Responsible for the review and reconciliation of timecards prior to all weekly and bi-weekly pay runs. 

  • Prepare and review weekly timekeeping/payroll reports including data entry of time information and associated reporting, as needed. 

  • Retain time and attendance records for historical questions and audit purposes. 

  • Prepare and audit time records to support daily off-cycle checks as needed. 

  • Responsible for system maintenance and testing when enhancements and upgrades are required and/or new work rules are created. 

  • Research and resolve complex payroll inquiries from Mortenson Project Teams, Business Services areas or individual team members via phone or email. 

  • Act as Payroll team member liaison for Mortenson Project teams. Ensure each project team is trained on Passport so worked hours are recorded correctly. 

  • Mentor and provide training one UKG and Passport for all users, payroll associates and administrators as required. 

  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. 

  • Special projects as assigned by Manager. 


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience 

  • Minimum of five years payroll experience in a multi-state environment. 

  • Exceptional Knowledge of UKG (Kronos Dimension). 

  • Knowledge of Passport timekeeping preferred. 

  • Oracle payroll or ADP knowledge preferred. 

  • Experience working with unions a plus. 

  • CPP certification a plus 

  • Positive, professional attitude with excellent customer service skills 

  • Consistently exhibit a sense of urgency in performing duties with the ability to balance multiple priorities. 

  • Ability to follow complex processes with a high degree of accuracy and be able to identify and implement ongoing process improvements. 

  • Knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act, state payroll requirements, federal and state payroll taxes, and standard accounting procedures. 

  • Detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with multi-local and foreign payrolls. 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and leadership. 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 

  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback. 

  • Ability to lead individual or group trainings on UKG or Passport. May include travel to job sites.
