Domain Builders, LLC a privately held general contracting firm focused multifamily, residential, and commercial is looking to hire a Superintendent.
The Superintendent supervises and coordinates the daily activities of construction workers, contractors, sub-contractors and Assistant Superintendents. A Superintendent’s responsibility is to plan, coordinate and supervise new construction and remodeling of existing buildings.
Primary Job Functions:
- Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the work of the Foreman, Sub Foreman, and/or craft employees on construction projects.
- Trains employees.
- Acts as an adviser on job related problems.
- Leads inspection and commission of day to day construction work to enforce conformity to plans and specifications.
- Timely and accurately written documentation.
- Keeps records on work performed and materials; is responsible for the control of costs in materials and wages.
- Exercises control over rate of construction progress in order to complete construction project within time limits; schedules jobs and operations.
- Miscellaneous duties include knowing client’s specific project expectations, posting all required safety and company signage, addressing project warranty issues, and working together with the Project Manager and team to represent a single project focus.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must have 5 – 7 years minimum of supervisory experience in building construction, remodeling and construction project coordination experience, preferably in multi-family construction.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage
- Possesses both written and verbal English language skills
- Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions or the job include:
- Intimate knowledge of all phases of building construction, including work commonly done by the various building crafts
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
- Knowledge of building materials, tools, and machines
- Knowledge of building material costs and wages
- Supervisory ability to lead a field team
