Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations for commercial corporate interiors projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for delivering high-quality, on-time, and on-budget fit-outs by coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and maintaining strong client and stakeholder communication. This role requires hands-on leadership and a deep understanding of commercial interior construction processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct daily on-site construction operations for corporate interior and commercial projects, ensuring work progresses according to schedule and plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules; coordinate subcontractor activities and material deliveries to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Enforce safety programs and site-specific safety plans; conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks to ensure a zero-incident culture.
  • Monitor quality control and workmanship; perform inspections and coordinate corrective actions to meet contract specifications and company standards.
  • Manage on-site labor and subcontractor performance, including hiring, supervision, and conflict resolution to maintain productivity and morale.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify scope, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track project costs and assist with budget management by identifying and reporting potential variances, change orders, and productivity impacts.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports, RFI logs, site photos, and progress documentation; maintain accurate records for project closeout.
  • Oversee punch lists, final inspections, commissioning, and turnover activities to ensure successful project completion and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and train junior field personnel in best practices for construction, quality control, and safety compliance.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on Superintendent experience managing commercial corporate interiors or similar commercial fit-out projects.
  • Proven track record delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, reading blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Experience with scheduling and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, PlanGrid) and familiarity with cost tracking and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of local building codes, ADA requirements, and life-safety regulations applicable to commercial interiors.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred; First Aid/CPR certification a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to coordinate diverse teams and liaise effectively with clients and design professionals.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel to job sites as required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and solve problems proactively.
