DIRECT HIRE Construction Superintendent National Travel (85-90%)

A specialty contractor with a strong national footprint has an opening for a Construction Superintendent to lead field installation crews on industrial construction projects across the country. This company designs and builds large-scale containment and storage structures for municipal, industrial, and commercial clients - the kind of work that takes real craft to execute and real leadership to run.

  • Anticipated $90K-$100K, based on experience

  • Travel 85-90% (home approximately 1-2 weekends per month)

Overview:

  • Lead onsite installation crews on specialty industrial construction projects across multiple sites nationally
  • Perform and oversee hands-on millwright and mechanical work required to complete project scope
  • Own the site safety program - daily JSAs, safe work planning, incident management, and crew training
  • Maintain onsite quality standards and production pace from mobilization through punch list closeout
  • Coordinate project schedules and sequencing directly with the customer and internal project managers
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for customer communication and site meetings
  • Manage financial performance of onsite activity - track field costs and hold the line on budget
  • Develop labor, equipment, and vendor resourcing plans; coordinate crane and rental equipment logistics
  • Submit daily field reports and maintain complete site records through project closeout
  • Work closely with Project Managers and support staff to keep projects on schedule and within scope


Preferred Skills/Experiences:

  • Minimum 5 years of construction management experience, with hands-on field execution
  • Ability to work safely and effectively at elevated heights above 100 feet
  • Experience operating forklifts, manlifts, and standard erection equipment
  • Valid driver's license; ability to qualify as a DOT driver
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
  • OSHA 30, Basic Plus, and/or MSHA 48 certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Hands-on millwright or mechanical assembly background strongly preferred
  • Experience with tanks, silos, domes, or specialty industrial structure installation a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); MS Project and project management software a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable as the primary client contact on-site
