Quality Surveys - Conduct surveys and develop audit programs in accordance with divisional standards prior to the approval by the senior manager.

Audit Procedures - Performs audit procedures as outlined in the audit program

Audit Reporting - Prepare audit reports of quality in accordance with divisional standards prior to the approval by the senior manager.

Corrective Action Plans - Monitors corrective action in accordance with divisional standards prior to the approval by the senior manager.


Requirements:



  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and IIA Standards.


  • Ability to work independently and on a team, while providing assistance in training and supervision of other audit staff.


  • Ability to review a function, area, or situation and formulate applicable audit procedures.


  • Ability to listen to management and others and guide inquiries to resolve problems.


  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications.

  •  Ability to analyze financial and other business data to propose resolutions to issues.


  • Ability to proactively interpret and apply relevant VDOT, federal and state regulations related to various types of audits and reviews.


  • Ability to promote development of innovative audit processes, programs, etc. to meet changing needs.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Progressively responsible experience analyzing complex and unusual financial and other business data to propose resolutions to issues.


  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a team, while providing assistance in the training and supervision of other audit staff.


  • Ability to review a function, area, or situation and formulate applicable audit procedures.


  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications.


  • Progressively responsible experience applying GAAP, GAAS, and IIA Standards.


  • Experience interpreting and applying regulations to various types of complex or unusual audits and reviews.


  • Ability to promote development of innovative audit processes, programs, etc. to meet changing needs.



Additional Considerations



  • A combination of training, experience, or education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field desired.


  • Experience conducting audits of federal and state government contracts.


  • Progressively responsible experience conducting complex or unusual audits of federal and state government contracts.


  • Experience with Teammate auditing software desired.


  • CPA, CIA, CFE, CGFM, CGAP or equivalent certification desired.

VDOT is an emergency operation agency. Positions physically working within Central Office locations may be designated upon request and coordination among the respective District Engineer or Administrator and Chief. Assignments are updated annually. Not all designated employees are provided an emergency operations assignment.
